MOMENTUM MOMENTS

JANUARY 2026

A MOMENT WITH PASTOR SCOTT

 - Momentum in Motion

Dear Friends,

The past few months have been a vivid reminder that God is still writing stories in real time. Last fall, Momentum Ministries had the privilege of serving churches through renewal weekends, preaching events, and teaching gatherings across the Southeast and Midwest. I’ve also been preaching at our home church, Sea Island International Church of the Nazarene, while our pastor is recovering from surgery.  For all these opportunities to share the Good News, we are deeply grateful.

This winter and spring, Lana and I have needed to limit some speaking as we prepare to move into our new home here in Charleston, South Carolina. Even so, the ministry calendar remains full, with revivals scheduled for Spartanburg, Summerville, and Pelion, South Carolina; Liberty, Missouri; and West Union, Ohio. I am also honored to be part of the South Carolina District mission trip to the Southside Community Center in Peoria, Illinois.  And I am continuing to preach the Gospel at Sea Island.

Our team is experiencing some changes:

  • We are thankful for Joyce Tempel, who has faithfully served on our Board for the past two years and is now stepping aside due to increased responsibilities with the World Mission Division of the Church of the Nazarene.

  • We are pleased to welcome two new board members: Megan Barrett of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, a children’s pastor, and Alejandra Arteaga of Austin, Texas, an associate pastor.

In addition to preaching and travel, I continue to record new episodes of our Momentum podcast and work on several writing projects. I apologize for the delay in publishing Still Waters. The plan now is to publish it this year.  I am also excited to introduce 2 new book projects: Essays on Holiness, along with and Snowboy, an illustrated children’s book.  We also have begun a discovery process to translate Christmas with Ruth into Spanish.

Thank you for being part of this journey. God is still moving—and the best is yet to come.

Until Next Time,

Scott
